Company History

Absolute Data Services Ltd started life as a small consultancy company providing electronic design and embedded software development services to the audio, video and broadcast sector. The business was later expanded to become an importer and distributor of electronic development tools and is now the official UK distributor for the Dino-Lite and Terasic product lines.

Importer and Distributor

As an importer and distributor of electronic development tools and products the company ethos is to source and supply products which are; of high quality, provide flexibility while remaining user friendly, and most of all are cost effective. We concentrate on products that we have professional experience of (by virtue of our consultancy business) to ensure that we are able to offer excellent product support and advice.

Consultancy Services

The consultancy arm of the business (which is still very active) has worked on a number of landmark products and with some of the most respected companies in the industry including Solid State Logic, Merging Technologies, Codex Digital, Akai Professional M.I. Corp and Tektronix Lightworks Products (Lightworks Editing Systems) among others.

An in depth technical knowledge and good appreciation of end user requirements has seen us involved in products including:

• Design experience - at the general level our experience ranges from small 8-bit micro-controllers through to some of the most advanced 32-bit embedded processors on the market as well as DSPs, FPGAs, high density and high speed design. The majority of our designs now involve some element of high speed design and we are well versed in technologies such as PCI-Express, PCI-X, Gigabit Ethernet, SAS, SATA, DDR and DDR2. In addition to a broad experience base we also have specific design knowledge of some of the leading silicon devices from vendors such as AMCC, Freescale, Microchip, ATMEL, Analog Devices, PLX Technology, LSI, Altera, Xilinx, Marvell and Intel.
• Fresh ideas - we are always on the lookout for new and interesting technologies as well as new ways to apply existing technologies to solve design problems. This not only covers silicon devices but also hardware and software development tools, test equipment and other 3rd party services.
• Established commercial links - we have well established links with some excellent mechanical designers, PCB design bureaux, PCB assembly and test companies, technical writers and other 3rd party suppliers. We also have very good links with some of the major component distributors and well established relationships with a number of silicon manufacturer field application engineers.
• Confidentiality - we treat our clients information in the strictest confidence and all our engagements are covered by confidentiality agreements.
